Simply gobsmacked. Thrilled, as well. Humbled too.
Thank you to Megha’s World for nominating me for the Awesome Blogger Award. I’ve only been at this blogging thing, seriously, since early December last year. I’d always been too timid to share my writing, so I didn’t. But I’m getting braver by the day, and this nomination means more to me than you’ll ever realise, Megha. Thanks so much!
I’m going to answer the questions posed to me. I hope you enjoy reading them.
1. What is the latest book you’re reading and are you enjoying it?
I am reading a book called The Playground by Julia Kelly. I borrowed it from my local library. I’m not enjoying it, consequently it is half-finished. Might be time to move on, I think.
2. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Other?
I’m on Facebook, Insti, LinkedIn, Google+. The latter is just another platform to share my blog posts. I hardly post to Facey anymore, but I still stalk it at least once a day, likewise Insti. Currently, both those social media sites are depressing as hell, as most of my contacts/friends/whatever are enjoying beachside or overseas holidays.
3. What is your favourite word and why?
Astonished. It’s a great word, and under-used today, I think.
4. Dogs or Cats?
Neither really. I’m not an animal person. Having said that, our family adopted a cat about six months ago. I did it for the kids. A Mummy Sacrifice.
5. Is there any song that holds any special meaning to you?
Not really. I love songs, and there are many that resonate with me for various reasons. If pushed, I have to say No Surprises by Radiohead.
6. What do you feel strongly about?
Raising my children to become decent adults.
7. If you could grant one person in your life one wish, what would it be?
Hmm, tough one. At this moment in time, I’d grant my beautiful friend the ability for her and her family to stay where they are.
8. What is your favourite film?
Another toughie. I love movies, so it’s hard to narrow down. Huge fan of the Die Hard movies. I’ve always loved Gone With the Wind, Love Actually, Bridget Jones, and any adaptation of Jane Austen’s works.
9. What is your favourite book?
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
10. Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions?
One: Choose Kindness.
Hope you’ve enjoyed reading a bit more about me. My turn to share the love now:
