Home again

It’s 9AM here on Saturday morning.

Our Girl and I have had an early netball match, but we are home again, safely returned to the nest.

It was a frustrating game to coach today. Our team was superior in terms of their skills and understanding of the rules, but we lost.

Why did we lose? Well I’m glad you asked.

The opposing team had a super-precise shooter as well as numerous girls with a height advantage. We are a team of mostly made up of shorties, and unfortunately a propensity to call for passes from behind their opponent, despite their coach drilling into them every training session and match to get out in front. Also, (gonna sound like a whinger here) the umpiring was total shite. Gah!!!

But that’s team sports – you win some, you lose some.

It’s good to be back home and out of the blustery, rainy day.
