FPQ #72

Today, Fandango asks, ‘What is the one thing in life you are most excited about? Why?’

Easy.

On Tuesday 9th June, my kids go back to school. Zippidy-do-dah! Can’t wait.

I love them of course, but kids aren’t meant to be indoors all day, bent over devices, taught by parents. It’s no substitute for real school, real learning.

I think they’re chomping at the bit, too, but for T2—he’s more hesitant to return to the school yard and classrooms. But T1 and Our Girl are keen to see friends, get outdoors, breath fresh air, and experience the comfort of external structures.

Slowly, slowly, we’re coming back. T1 has soccer training tonight and Sunday, with a view for matches to begin in late June or July. Our netball club is considering commencing training from next week, too.

As if to underscore my excitement, the sun is shining and the skies are bright blue, proving that, even in the chilly morning air of winter, the promise of hope dawns with each new day.

  1. Sounds like you are getting back on track Linda. I am sure the kids are over Mum’s teaching and being inside. I expect once the kids are out the door there’ll be a happy dance 😀

    1. They’re actually being taught by Dad, as most of their schooling is beyond me, especially maths. I kid you not! I did however help Our Girl with a writing project and the boys with an English conventions test last week. I’m keen to see my results 🙂

  2. My kids are all grown up, but I can’t imagine what it would have been like to have my kids, when they were school age, in lockdown for weeks on end, so I can understand and appreciate your excitement!
