Work

I’ve been staring at a blank ‘block editor’ screen for about twenty minutes. In frustration, I picked up Our Girl’s word search puzzle book and found a few words then put it aside. Coming back to the laptop screen, I remained stumped. Creative juices stymied.

I’ve still got my freelance editing work to complete, hopefully over the course of this weekend. Add to that, a new job came in late yesterday, with a deadline for Thursday—that’s fine, I only need to write a 400 word article, so it shouldn’t take too long. However, it’s not a productive use of my time to continue staring at the screen, forcing a short story when I could, and should, get straight into work. Fiction rarely works well when forced, anyway.

Now, reconciled to that, I bid you all a good day, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
