Road Trip

Tomorrow morning, Wednesday AEST, we set off for our Christmas adventure in South Australia.

After depositing our cat to the vet for boarding, we’ll begin our road trip. A billowing breeze behind us and a car filled with suitcases, hidden Father Christmas presents, excited children and me and Hubster. We’re breaking up the nine-hour trip with an overnight stay at (roughly) halfway point.

We’re staying north of Adelaide, in a hot, dusty little country town. My parents are travelling to us on Christmas morning, to see how much their best and most cherished grandchildren have grown (they have 7 in total, but of course mine hold top rank πŸ™‚ ). They will spend a day or so with us before they head back to Adelaide, leaving us to explore the surroundings. Clare Valley wine region an easy 40 minute drive.

For now, I have packing to do so I’ll bid you farewell. I’ll see you all on the flip-side of Christmas. I hope you won’t miss too much my inept attempts at short fiction and you’ll be willing to check back in with me soon.

Merry Christmas to you all. If you don’t celebrate Christmas, then happy whatever-kinda-break-you-take holiday. Enjoy love and rest and relaxation…we’ve all earned it!

Bye for now πŸ™‚

  1. Taking the cat would have added loads of fun to the trip. Thanks for being inept at writing and entertaining me with your words.
Safe drive with Nana’s favourite cherubs and Hubster. See you next year with words inspired by a drunken journey around the Clare Valley. fanboy #1 πŸ€—πŸ’•

    1. Thanks Brian, always thrilling when anyone reads and comments, but I hold a special place in my heart for my regulars like you ❀❀ I’ll probably bore readers with a post or two before NYE…planning to work on my manuscript one day while in SA so I’m sure procrastination will send me here 🀣🀣
